As I was driving to school today, I went over a quite a few bumps and my passenger door panel was rattling like crazy...I know some people can learn to live with the rattles in there stang but sometimes it gets to me...

So my question is how do you tighten up the door panels on the door, i was looking at the panels today and I saw no type of screw or anything....

Anybody could share in this thread how to get all your rattles out lol...:p Thanks guys!

Well, you are gonna have to take off the door panel of course. I have done this and it really takes practice. It is very unlikely that you will get it back on correctly the first time, just keep at it until it is perfect.

In the below picture see the blue stuff? It is attached to the door panel and rattles against it when the plastic melt-rivets become loose. I believe that this may be your problem. When you have the door panel off flex it and you will hear that blue piece make what I think will be a very familiar sound.

If that is not the noise there are other things that can be investigated... It could also be the yellow foam blocks in the above rattling against the door panel.

Well, there are two screws behind the door cup that may be loose. Remove the door cup (it just pops out) and check those two screws to make sure they are tight if the door panel feels "loose".

And your whole interior IS loose, yay Ford! :rlaugh:

Baddass:nice: How do you remove the door cup, i see theres a little place where you can put a flat head screw driver and lift it up....right:nice: :nice:

yep

Yeah it's so strange, the door panels in my 99GT rattled once in a while but as a whole the car was really solid and it had double the miles my 99 Cobra has.

My cobra has lots of squeaks in the dash area that my other car never had :nonono: I swear the entire dash is not tightened down or something. I am planning to take it apart sometime and check it out, not looking forward to that though...

Bro. It really depends on the orgin of where the mustang came from owner wise. When I bought my 96 GT it had no rattles because where he lived all the roads were nice flat and no pot holes. Now that I go over bad roads frequently interior pieces tend to loose there solidness....All vehicles are created equal lol.

When my friend had his Dakota R/T's dash apart to install a custom ignition switch/2-step control, i noticed that all of the pieces had little green velvet pads on them. I'm thinking that's why his dash doesn't creak or rattle; it's certainly not due to the amazing dodge quality. Has anyone ever tried doing something like that to our cars? I would love to, but I don't know how to go about doing it.

My pass. speaker or something around it rattles.
I took my door panel off and looked at it, put a little soft velcro square under the speaker cover and hoped that would get rid of it...
no it's worse...i'll have to do it again to figure out what else is rattling. :(

rattles louder than i can turn the sound up.

my door panel was a pain it the butt to get off and put on!
