Only happens under hard acceleration, but the noise is starting to get to me. I bought the car with the pro 5.0 already installed, so I haven't taken it apart yet.

Is there anything specific I should look for/tighten when I take it apart?

Does it sound like pre detonation? Try using high octane fuel and see if it goes away. If you allready are, try backing your timing off a bit.

i dont see what would be causing detontation..i would suggest looking at the safety stop screws are any parts like that , which could possible come loose...hopefully its just the shifter

Yeah it's not detonation. The sound stops when I put my hand on the shifter.

Mine does it also..due to the lack of bushings where the handle screws to the shifter base.It picks up vibrations like a mf.
The factory bushings can be used or call Pro50.They will advise. I like the way it shifts..so I'm leaving it alone. But it is correctable.HTH
