What's the best way to figure out what the front discs on my 68 came off of? A search didn't yield much--mostly conversion threads. Is it basically visual inspection and comparison, or will there be a part # stamped somewhere? If so, where can I look for a part #? Sorry to be asking and not just looking myself, but it's gotten dark out, and I won't be able to look until tomorrow after work. Just wanted to get an idea where to look when I'm out there. The rotors are ~10" and the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.25" in case that rings a bell for anyone. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Rotors are more likely 10.5 and the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5. Aside from the 67's dual piston calipers, the later 68-up discs are all the same if I ain't mistaken, that goes for the Granada, Monarch, 71-73 Stang, and Maverick/Comets. These are all single piston calipers.

Not to Hi Jack, but I too am wondering what disc's I have on my 67. Can you tell just by looking at them whether or not you have 4 piston or single piston. Pics would be great if anyone had any.
Yes
If you see a tube going form one side of the to the other it is a 4 piston. The K/H 4 piston is the same design as the SSDB conversion kit if that helps.

and look in some parts catalogs .... some sell reman calipers and you should be able to "see" the OEM 4 piston type .... several catologs are on-line and have decent pics .... the diff between 4-piston and single is very easy to note ....

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Thanks for the clarification! That has been driving me nuts! Spoofty, I have seen that diagram before--I guess I just remembered the points to measure wrong.:bang:  Thanks for the link. I have been checking out pics online and it does appear that I have the single piston calipers.

Thanks again!
