Real Mach 1 or not ????? Anyone help me

Can anyone help me out i got a Vid number for a mustang that the guy says is a Mach 1 and its white with Black strips i was thinking about picking it up but i want to make sure that im getting what i pay for ..... VID# 3f02f231378... Also i know that with new vid numbers that they are supposed 2 be 17 charecters long ....

Nope!

All Mach 1's from 1970 to 1973 have an "05" for the model. You are looking at a 1973, yes? 1969 Mach 1's will have an "03" in the VIN

01 is coupe
02 is fastback
03 is convertible
04 is grande
05 is Mach 1

Also, you are looking at a 302 2V car, I'm pretty sure....

yea its a 302 2v in there so most likley a fake huh well thanks man ..... did mach 1s even come with a 302 in them from the factory ????? i wouldnt think so but i dunno......

I'm pretty sure the base motor in 71-73 is the 302 2V, in 69 & 70, I think it was the 351.

I concur with folks above. 302 2v was the base motor for '71-'73 Machs. All Machs from '70-'73 have the "05" vin.

And, in 72 or 73 - you could get a "sport appearance" package with... you guessed it - Mach 1 style striping (actually more like the boss 351 stripes .. but - you know.
