Rear Brake Line Flex Hose? Part #

If any of you have replaced the rear flex line running from the hardline and then into the distribution block on the rearend on a 1968 8", where did you get it. What part number? I would rather replace it, but the parts store says it isn't listed. Thanks.

I got mine from NPD, IIRC. I dont rem the part #, but its in the brake section (obviously )

Got mine from Mustangs Plus. 800-999-4289. I think it was $35-40.

Do you guys think that it is a part only available to the Mustang Restoration shops. Is it a part I could pick up from say a Napa or Autozone. I was hoping not to have to wait/pay for shipping.

Hven't thought of looking. Go to autozone and ask them to pull out their Brakeware catalogue- check in that.

That is exactly my problem, they don't have it listed. I was hoping someone would have a list or possibly one of their old boxes with the part number listed.

Going to bump this one up, I really don't want to pay the shipping and inflated Mustang restorations companies inflated prices. It really gets me that for common parts that you can buy at any autoparts store they inflate the prices 25% and sometimes more.

Anyone have a part number?

Rear Brake Line Flex Hose

I have converted all brake and fuel lines, hard and soft over to AN fittings, steel braid, and stainless hardline. It solved a couple issues for me;

1. I need only one type of pressure fitting everywhere in the car;
- Brakes
- Fuel
- AC
- Power Steering

2. AN fittings are supplied by several vendors and available at most speed
shops

3. Flex lines and hardlines are now generic or you can custom build yourself

4. I shop for many of my brake line parts at the following:

Sounds like a great alternative. Was it expensive. In a couple of years I want to tear down my car completely and would probably do such a conversion like you mentioned then.

I went to Napa on my lunchbreak today and found the part, it took a bit of researching and calling but sure enough I have it now. I will post the part # later for posterity. Thanks for the help guys.

I found where I got mine from NAPA. The one that worked was a #414900. Glad you found one!!

Mine actually cost something like $34.00 but I didn't have to wait, they had it in stock.

Seriously, a part locating database would be great. Most of the Mustang retailers are charging way too much for everyday parts like the above. I don't mind paying a little bit more for hard to find OEM style parts that are only available through the restoration shops, but I do have a problem when I see the same part that I could pick up at a NAPA or similar store for alot less money advertised in their brochures for a significant markup. Along with that, I am very impatient and hate waiting for shipping.
