rear brakes

I'm compressing the rear disk brake piston and adjuster into caliper with caliper adjusting tool. When do I stop turning it? The fluid has stoped coming out but the piston still turns. The caliper fits over the new pads now.

The answer seems obvious but I want to be sure.

your good, finish the install and when all is tight pump the brakes back up. Enjoy

The bullittarchive site is down. Should I use a dab of high temp grease where the pad sleeves go slide against the caliper holder?

Also, should I use lock tight on the caliper pin retainers bolts?

I just did a brake job on my 02 Sunday. I used the grease where the pads slide on the bracket, but I didn't use locktite on the bolts. I just torqued them to the specs in the Haynes manual. Don't forget to grease the slide pins. I changed pads and rotors all the way around. I had a heck of a time trying to break the caliper bracket bolts loose. I finally had to go buy a propane torch to heat a couple of them with.

I didn't grease the slide pins. The shop manual didn't say to. It sounds like it should though. I will go back later when it cools down(the weather).

Mine still had grease on them, but I cleaned them off and gooped them up with fresh grease. I also used some permatex disc brake quiet on the back of the pads. It is supposed to help prevent squealing.

The manual didn't mention disk brake quiet on the back of the pads either. I'll do it later too.
