Make sure to remove the adjuster, clean it, and get a tube of lithium grease to lubricant it. Also, use a brush to lube tje three points of contact each brake shoe makes against the backing plate. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, I’m sure there’s a YouTube video of someone doing it.

I think you have to download the image and print it.

Makes sense.... don't know why I didn't think of that.... I'll give it a try and report back. :)

Edit - Update! Printed it out (twice even!) and I couldn't detect any difference. They both smelled kinda - I don't know - sorta ink-y to me. May have been just me. Or maybe my printer doesn't have the right capabilities. Dunno. Oh well.... :dig:

Or just replace them. Seems like most everything in there is gonna be new. The adjusters themselves, and the self-adjuster parts (the levers, cables and cable guides) are about the only other parts that seem like you're going to re-use. For a few bucks more, you can have pretty much everything in there brand new.

Are they difficult to replace?
I just replaced my drums and ebrake cables. The cables were a pain to do by myself but if you have any questions feel free to ask. My 90 GT sat for years and my passenger drum rusted and seized so the wheel wouldn't rotate. I used a hammer to get the old drum off and replaced both sides along with the ebrake cables. I probably didn't have to do all that but since I was there I figured I would.
