Rear Drum Brakes

I think the toughest part is getting the cable to release from the backing plate and the other location under the car. If memory serves me right you can use a 1/2" closed end wrench on the backing plate connections and then a 1/2" socket on the ones under the car. Yup, found a good video on the ones under the car:

Timing was good here. I pulled my axle this morning and used that slick trick. Works fantastic!

I think I found the issue. Was able to get the drum off and looks like the cylinder is leaking.

Axle seals looked good. Can I replace the cylinder without removing the brake shoes completely? Can I just remove the primary and secondary springs to spread open the shoes enough to remove the cylinder?

Are you going to do both sides???
Only remove and install one side at a time so you can look at the other side to help you figure out where all the springs and things go..
Smaller shoe goes forward.....
do not throw any of the Old springs and things away until you compare them with the new spring kit... Make sure all of items in it are correct.. Sometimes you have to reuse a couple of items

Yup, doing both sides. Thanks for the advice. Not gonna lie, all the springs don't look like fun but I need to get it done.
