yea i know it sounds weird... i was on my way home from class last night and i noticed a light vibration in all pedals that ive never felt before and also noticed ive got what sounds like differential gear noise, only its coming from the front of the car... :notnice: its proportional to vehicle speed, not engine speed, so it gets louder as the car goes faster

i also noticed it seems to go away when i turn left, but gets louder and lower in pitch when i turn right.... wheel bearings are new and freshly packed... my tires are just about up for a rotation, taking turns too fast hehe... im thinkin its just weird tire noise, but wanted a few other opinions, its a low humming noise, not a high whine exactly like gears  , and as i said its accompanied by a high-frequency vibration in at least clutch and accel pedal and occasionally the steering wheel as well. im not sure there's much else in the front end that rotates to cause vibration like this... anyone have ideas?

thanks a billion :nice:

jack up the front and give the tires a push and pull check..look for movement, check the harmonic balancer for any wabble. Could be alot of things, but likely will need look over the car to diagnose. I would definately not drive without giving it a good once over.

sounds like your left wheel bearing may be a little loose-since the vibration is speed synchronous, instead of engine rpm synchronous...

if the noise gets weaker turning left (unloading of the bearings) and stronger turning right (loading up the bearings), i'd ck the bearings...I know you said you just packed them, but if the bearing preload wasn't properly set, then you'll get vibration caused by too much play between the rollers and the races.

I had something similar happen to my car, i thought it was a wheel bearing at first but after i rotated my tires the sound went away. The tires im running are directional (not sure if that has any effect) Its worth a try :D

lol no way tranny is low, it was just put in and no leaks anywhere, its not the rear end otherwise id definitely hear it from the rear seats with windows up... its coming from under the passenger dash
