Rear end shuddering?

I was out driving tonight and when I got on the gas the rear end felt like it was shuddering? I don't have a clue why it did that, scared the **** out of me!!! The car's only got 44K miles on it

There isn't a schedule for clutch pack replacement. These differentials are very durable but abuse is why most clucth packs fail early.

its only done this twice I believe, how much does something like that cost to replace?

If you want to get dirty under $60 if you make someone else get dirty $100+.


Just out of curiousity when was the fluid changed last? If the fluid is toast the limited slip additive is too. Which means the clutch packs will make a little chatter.

It may indeed be your clutch packs going but how long ago did you do your 4.10 gear swap? Mustangs are notorious for the drive shaft bolts loosening after you have done a gear change. My friends did and so did mine. I noticed it because it started to shake the rearend. I had to put loctite thread lock on mine to keep them from coming loose. If you do that they will never come off again. If you want to chain your drive shaft you have to take a torch and heat up the bolts so the loctite will loosen up. Check it out. Might be a quick fix as opposed to changing clutch packs.
