Rear Main Seal?

Can an earlier 351W block with the two-piece rear main seal be converted to the newer one-piece version?

That's a question for the machine shop.

I believe I've heard of some guys doing this, you machine the bore into the back of the block and the rear main cap for using the one piece press in seal.

I've not done it myself, but it sure sounds like a good idea to me.
