Rear Panhard Rod Bar rattles?

So I put my exhaust on and now my panhard rod bar has a rattle on the inside of the bar. Has anyone else had this problem? It is very loud. At first I thought the exhaust wa loose but it was actually the bar......BTW I have no idea how to spell the panhardrod bar thing so no jokes OK......lol

i dont understand what you mean by a rattle inside the bar...

my stock panhard had something inside. like sand or shot-like. if you turn it end over end, then you an hear it inside. sounds like a can half full of sand.

how did you narrow it down to the panhard bar? are you sure the exhaust hangers are not rubbing on the back of the bumper reinforcement? thats a common area after axleback installation.

i dont see how the stock panhard can rattle unless it is either not torqed properly or the bushings are worn out causing slop between the bolt and the outer shell of the rod.

is it a loud clank, small metal on metal rattle, etc? please give us more details to help you out.

The axle back did hit but I fiexed that problem. I put the car on a lift and hit everything until I found the "other" rattle. There is something inside my bar. It sounds like something in a tin can that rattles and vibrates everytime I get onto the gas.

I have a similar problem and it's been driving me crazy!! I've had it looked at a couple of times and nobody can find the source. They told me the next step would be to take the whole exhaust off and examine it for possibly a bad cat, baffle, etc. I have scraped the exhaust on speed bumps, etc a couple of times, but I think the rattle started before that. It's intermittent and not readily producible, but is fairly frequent. Sometimes it occurs at idle, and other times while the car is in motion. I also have the stock bar.

I guess the panhard bar has stuff put inside it form Ford. The quickest and easiest fix is to drill a whole in the bar and inject some of that expanding foam into the bar. I am going to have that done net week. It is for sure teh panhard bar that is ratteling though. You can check yours by simply putting it on a lift and hitting the bar, it doesn't take make it rattle. I guess for did this to reduce vibrations inside the car.
