Yeah, it's half inch, very strong, will easily support 2 people sitting there, if two people actually wanted to sit with their backs to a pair of subwoofers.
The entire reason I even did this was to prevent people from wanting to sit in my backseat...I really don't like parading people around
can you give me some measurements etc, i want to make one for my eclipse twelves that is just like that, how did you build the box for the rear of it...... Did you leve the mach 460 pod there or remove it...

I'll have to get back to you on this one tomorrow, send me a PM to remind me. I'll go to the shop where we did it, and see if we kept a record of the measurements. The guy that did it's a genious with this stuff, he plugged away and 6 hours later we had that!
The only things removed from the rear were the seats, the seatbelts, and the metal bracket that the back of the original seats lean against. The amp rack in the trunk remains, and so do all the speakers and the pod up top. He did some custom cutting to basically mount the box in that little area underneath the 2 mach 460 amps....I'll try to get those measurements
I can make you one for 1/2 the price of any place on ebay. They wanted anywhere from $129-199 + $45 shipping on some of the links. I'm not cheap but damn if I'll pay that much for something I can do better and customize/creatique myself.
I made 2 extra ones for verts and I'm gonna put them on ebay for $50 + shipping. I made 3 for some peeps in my local club draped with an American flag and 2 with USMC colors. I made mine different with a nice throw quilt.
PM me if you are interested.
Chit...Don't bother me at all....Kinda nice seeing what everyones come up with...
Ya I hear you on the hinge...It wasn't exactly how I wanted to do it....I was into it and made do with what I had...
Painting it Black would be the easiest fix...
