Rear seat delete looks too empty?

I was thinking about building my own rear seat deletion type deal, but I saw some pictures and I can't really tell if it will look bad or not. I had an rx-7 so i'm used to only two seats, and I could lose some extra weight on the car, but I don't want it looking too akward. The only pictures I see of kits and all are from behind the drivers seat. Anyone have pictures through the windows or from more forward in the interior so I could see how it looks? Thanks.

I checked out their pictures and they only give the drivers seat and back pictures, not the kind i'm looking for. Also i'm not in the market to buy one, going to build it myself, but I want an idea of how it's going to look first.

With a little custom work it looks stock. I bought carpet and vinyl from a local automotive intererior shop that matches that stock pieces. I also used a 1x4 to space the back out so that it fits flush with the head rest. The back is hinged so it can still flip down, and the bottom is also hinged so stuff can be stored under it.

Slider, that looks good. Ocelot maybe you should built yours like slider did except maybe make the top raise up a bit(maybe just under half way to your chair) and make two storage boxes in it and push your seats back. That way it will blend in easier and it have have storage compartments kinda like how the mid 70's corvette's had. Just an idea...

Yeah I was thinking about the storage box idea to match what my rx-7 used to have. I'll probably make a few cardboard outlines and eventually throw something together.

No, there is no nitrous, that is just a tool box The wires hanging there go to my 15" subwoofer and amp.

I do not have pics like you are asking for. Take my word for it, it looks stock.

Once you put the seats back they are far enough back (atleast for me since I am 6' tall) that the carpeted section blends right into the car. Since the vinyl on the back is the exact same color as the interior it blends right in. It all looks factory.

Due to the minimal space that there is behind the seat you really cannot extend the bottom surface out any more, it would hit the seat. It is just easier to stop where the seat stops. With a little engineering you can make the bottom fold up while it also can be locked down. No one will even know it opens. I keep my tool box and other misc. stuff in there. It keeps my car nice and clean, and nothing slides around.

The seats themselves are not that heavy, but the metal brackets that hold the back of the seat in place are pretty heavy. I made my setup pretty complicated and strong and so I did not save much weight. I would have to guess that is was 10-15 lbs, it could be more or less since I never weighed it. If you go straight for weight loss you can cut about 50% of the wieght off of my setup.

I did mine more for utility reasons. First off I never had passengers back there. You have to be a midget to fit, or have no legs Having storage under the seats is great. You would be surpised how much room is under there. Also, I got tired of putting stuff on the rear seats. Nothing ever seemed to fit and I was always worried about ruining the "leather." With carpet down things just seems to fit back there better and there is no worry about ruining it. The back of the setup is made out of peg board. I was thinking that it might help with my stereo setup, but I don't think it really maters. The only real drawback is that it lets a lot more noise come up from the floor and from the trunk. The simple solution is just to turn the radio up a little more
