HAMPTON ROADS
i need some help finding some plans for a rear seat delete for a coupe. a friend of mine said he would build me one for x-mas. so anyone that can help me out with some plans, designs for the dimensions and such would be a great help!!! :D

I plan on a rear seat delete with my notch since it will have a cage and the rear won't be that accessible anyway. My thought is just a large peice of cardboard and bend and cut until I like the way it looks. Then I'll cut my final piece out of 16 or 14 gage sheet metal and possibly cover it with pleather (<-- not a typo).

I know it's not the demensions you were looking for, but it's a cheap and easy solution. I'm sure there are rear seat delete kits out there to buy too.

The plans are on ebay. I got a set. Basically it's just templates.

Taking out the rear seats is dumb, i did it, now i got to put it back together because if you want a clean natural look back there, it's going to take enough materials that it weighs close to as much as the damn seats did in the first place.
When done for looks it just doesn't pay.

I also realized that anytime i see someones seat deleted, i immediately start thinking "rigged up car", unless it's really really done well.
I even think that way about my own.

i think mine looks like factory, not rigged at all. Easy to make just takes some effort.

That looks good. Definitely one of the better seat delete's i've ever seen.

But i agree with the stereotype that a removed rear seat looks tacky. The weight savings isn't as important to me as looks is. In both my Mustangs, NOBODY has ever sat in the rear seat, yet i'm going through the trouble of fitting a 99-04 rear leather seat into my fox for looks

but to each his own

Do the '93 Cobra R cars have a panel under the carpet? I've seen pics but never any in great detail. I can't tell if they just carpeted in the area or if there is a panel under the carpeting. Just curious.
