No, you dont have to remove any panels. THe only thingi removed was the speaker for temporary so i could stuff the seatbelt up in there. Just unscrew the carpet from the back of the seatrests and undo all the nuts and bolt that hold the black bracket(s) to the seats until its all gone. Nothin that cant be easily undone if you feel you have gotten in over your head, but it really is a very simple process. The only thing is, is that now there will be a spot where there is not carpet at all, unless you finish with carpet or something else. If you need anything else just ask, many of us have done this and if i havent explained well enough someone else will chime in.

how much weight reduction is a rear seat delete good for? I have been thinking about it here lately. Make it lighter and will give me an excuse NOT to give more than one person a ride....

Is it just me or does it SUCK BALLS giving more than one person a ride.
one person is fine with me. But i hate when its more than that, starts weighing the car down and i just hate it....

Lugging more people around def. isn't fun, but I did make $5 off a classmate. He said I couldn't spin tires from 20 in first gear with him in the back seat. He weighs 140 pounds soaking wet.

People say about 40-50 lbs with all the brackets, seatbelts etc.
It didn't seem that heavy to me. Just took mine out yesterday.

And bro, I FEEL you on taking more than 1 person with me.
I friggin hate it. Plus they usually have dirty shoes, then they complain about the space, usually have beer with them when we're going somewhere.

A car with no back seat always reminds me of Bad Boys.

"This car is a limited Edition!"

"You damn right it's limited...no cup-holders, no back-seat...just a shiny dick with 2 seats in it...I guess we're just the balls dragging the ***** along"

heaviest part of deleting it is the brackets/hardware/belts. the seats themselfs dont weigh that much.

it probably is about 40 pounds. it looks like hell if you delete it, and then just leave it empty with the sound deadening and carpet laying there. not really worth the weight loss in itself, unless you have something else planned for the space, imo.

i too wanna get that seat outta there for the excuse not to give anyone rides, those SOBs always tell you to scoot up your seat... my seats all the way back as it is, so if i scoot up my feet are crowded, and im the one controlling the damn car, if i **** up then im not just uncomfortable, we flip this bitch on the freeway...

push it back and then up. it might take some force to move it. There are little brackets that the tabs on the seats slide into. you have to push back on the bottom of the seats to remove the tabs.

Use your knees to shove in on the cusion and then you should be able to lift it up and out.

Use my knees to shove in the middle like pushing toward the back of the car?

yes push the cushion in its plane towards the rear of the car, then pull up on the front of the seat cushion.

there are bars on the bottom front of the seat cushion that lock into raised metal tabs on the seat support. once you get it out you'll never forget what's under there.
