First my question, which has more to do with the lunching at the track, the springs or the shocks? I believe springs have more to do with ride height and shocks have more to do with....well, shocks.
My car is a daily driver, and I like the tightness of the setup now for "handling"....yet I launch hard at the track on slicks and would like to keep my launches solid. Basically I want the best of both worls, tightness on the street and good slicks launches at the track.
My current setup is .8" lowering springs in the rear, with Strange adjustable shocks, Steeda solid lower and upper control arms (non-adjustable), stock quads, and Steeda full length subframe connectors. In the front I have 1" lowering springs and stock replacement front springs.
I love the adjustable shocks in the rear, that has allowed me to keep the rear "squat" pretty even with a 100 hole shot on 26" slicks. Now I want to raise the rear back up to roughly stock height, for a few reasons. I might go with 28" slicks, and the current ride height would never allow that. Plus I don't like the look of the car with the current spring setup. It rides too even, from front to back, I would like the rear to sit slightly higher than the front....more of that "muscle car" look, if you will. Not to the old 70s extreme, just a tad higher.
I am on a budget and I don't want to go with adjustable rear control arms at this moment.
I am thinking that a stockish height spring with a decent rate will give me everything I am looking for...I just don't know what a good set would be. Should I go with stock rear springs? Stock 4cyl springs? Stock Cobra springs? Some aftermarket spring? I want to leave the front alone, just the rears.
