I am going to get 5 leaf springs for the rear of my 67. However, I was going to go with mid-eyes and today I saw a pic of a car that had, reverse eye on them. Just wondering if anyone has some pics or ideas. I have a 26 X 11.5 ET Street tire on the rear and would like the tire to tuck nicely. I could go with the mid's and if that is not low enough go with some lowering blocks. Yet, it would be great to get the right springs to begin with and be done.

thanks
brian

whoa! serious triple-posting!

I would caution you to check carefully before getting reverse-eye springs. Almost everyone I have talked to who has them thought they lowered the rear TOO far, and now was in the silly position of getting 'helpers' for springs specifically made to lower the rump

Perhaps mid-eye is what you want....but again, I urge you to look at a reverse-eye setup and measure for your tire combo carefully.

Hey sorry I couldn't get back earlier on this one... cuz I have a direct opinion based on myself having the reverse eyes. Trust me, it's low. But how low it too low? Heck I don't know. As long as you don't have other issues like clearance, I like it. You just really have to take your time and figure out what you plan to do. I went low because I want the car to handle. Lowering the center of gravity is key. I also cut about a half coil off of my 620lb spring that I bought from M+. The car is slammed. But not slammed in the "import" type of jargin. It wasn't done to please that type of crowd. If you look at my sig, you can see I'm running a decent sized tire also. Rolling the inner fender lips is indeed a must. I'd say the top of the tire is just inside the radius of the fender lip if you were standing side ways to the car. If you don't want to mess around with cutting coils or are worried you won't get the rim tire package correct, go with the mid eyes. Or if you're running a tall tire... go with standard. My tire is only 25.6 tall remember... Hope this helps. Good luck.
