Does your car have one now?

If not, then yes, it will definatly help.

a rear sway bar CAN improve handling, depending on what you wanna get out of it. most mustangs severly understeer, and a properly setup rear sway bar will help the back end rotate a bit to compensate. the eibach front and rear swaybar package is around $280. For a max motorsports adjustible RSB, you are looking at $400+

I have been looking at 5.0 bars on ebay, am I just wasting my time with those?
At this point I am thinking anything can be an improvement. I have a vert and it handles like crap.

If you have a vert, you may want to start stiffening up the chassis also with a strut tower brace, k-member (g-load) brace and full length subframe connectors. You will see a dramatic improvement from those mods alone. If you have not done those already.
Verts are flexy.
I remember hearing that the '93 Cobra sway bar is stiffer (unconfirmed) , I was looking into that for a while because I am not running a sway bar in the rear. Something was binding and my Griggs LCA's sway bar mounts broke . Now I am looking into MM's panhard/LCA package.

LX's and GT's have the same suspension, save for the 4 bangers, so they both use the same sway bar

Unless he has a 4-banger LX, he already has a rear sway bar.

My gt didn't have one when i got it, been driving it like that for 9 months now and i just put one on 2 weekends ago. I don't take corners very fast in it, but i really didn't notice any difference with it on there, oh and it is a stock lx sway bar.

I was under my friends 90 lx hatch and under mine and the vert looks a little more inforced, for instance I had what looked like some extra bars under the front where he had no bars.

Convertibles did get extra bracing underneath due to not having a roof.

Do you have quad shocks?

The car is an original V8 right? Or was it converted?

I believe it was converted, I havnt cross checked the VIN, but I have found too many discrepancies.

It does have the extra bracing that are mandatory for verts, but that only strengthens the body enough to keep the body from buckling, it does nothing to keep the car from twisting during a turn or while driving over an uneven surface.
