Hey guys, do you actually need the rear sway bar? Mine snapped on the passenger side right in the middle of one of the bolt holes. Damn thing was rattling so I just took it off tonight. I'll get it welded up tomorrow but am wondering if there is any point to putting it back on other than the bolts that hold the sway bar in also keep your rear brake lines out of the way.

i have a 98 gt and mine did the same thing. i just took it off and never replaced it. its been over 2 years now and i really cant tell a difference with everyday driving. i just zipped tied the break lines to the hole where the bolt went and never had a problem.

I think the Mustang is in need of the bar, if it wasn't, Ford would not have put it there. I do know that Ford has built understeer into the Mustang as it is and if you take off the rear sway bar it just adds to that condition. If you are not concerned about how your car corners or how it would responed in an emergency situation then for you it will probably be ok to leave it off.
