Has anyone had any experience with adding a rear window louver to their hatchback. Specifically looking at the black aluminum ones sold by CJ Pony Parts.

Understand that some may just not like the look but more specifically looking to see if anyone has purchased one, what the quality was like, how mounting them was, and any photos.

Thanks in advance.

I managed to track down some of these window louvers finally, after a long time of searching. But they didn’t come with hardware. I ordered the rear window louver hardware kit from summit racing but i can’t get it to work with these 10 slat ford louvers. Could you please post some pics of the mounting hardware so I can get something fabricated?

Thanks in advance General karthief o7

Pics on the kindle are kinda crappy, basically the first pic is the top of the back glass, a very thin piece of metal (tin like?) is glued to the top of the back glass with two hinges with nuts attached, in the pic they are in the 'up' position, the second pic is the lower attachments, again a small, thin metal piece with what looks similar to a 'Dzus Fastener ' that secures the lower part of the slats.
I have the glass with the factory hardware mounted so mine is an ez swap.......where have you heard that before?

@evancs and @General karthief ,

I’m curious, did Ford stamp a part number on the “Ford” louvers [that you can see] or are they only identifiable due to the amount of slats?

I’m not seeing a part number on mine, or in the 1987 dealer’s brochure.

Thank you so much for the pictures. A huge help. Do you have an extra set of the hardware? Is that what you mean by how much to ship it to me? I’m in Canada but I would love to buy them from you, and I’d cover shipping of course. Cheers

Thanks guys…
6144268 seems to be the part number.
I have been looking for them for a while and was curious if the part number was actually stamped on them or not to indicate if they are actually ford or aftermarket so figured to ask being that you guys have them... I never saw the ford ones in person and was curious what to look for if I came across them.. I guess the material they are made of and the amount of slats are the way to tell….

Can you possibly send some pictures of the brackets where the two halves of the louvre bolt together and a clearer picture of the lower bracket?

Thanks in advance, even what you’ve sent already has gotten me one step closer to mounting these to my car. Much appreciated

Picked up a set of aluminum louvers but no mounting hardware, I see what comes with the units that you can buy but I don't see any mounting kits for sale. Anyone have some photos of how this thing mounts (not tape mount).
Thanks
Ron

Well it's, to me, safer because the pads are glued from the factory, they can be a PITA to remove then secure in the right places with what??
Don't trust two sided tape so what glue do ya use? I don't know and did not research since I had the glass.
