Picked up a set of aluminum louvers but no mounting hardware, I see what comes with the units that you can buy but I don't see any mounting kits for sale. Anyone have some photos of how this thing mounts (not tape mount).
Thanks
Ron

I have a set on my black mustang, and they mount like the picture below. The little feet on the plates slide under the back glass window mounting

There are a few different louvers sets out there. There's the Ford oem louvers and a few aluminum aftermarket sets sold in the 90s. Latest versions are plastic

Thanks for the info, how do the hinges attach to the car? It looks like the side pieces slide behind the window molding. I don't have the side filler pieces, are the necessary or just looks better.

These are aluminum, not sure if factory or not. Where the factory units aluminum.

You need the side pieces, keeps the air flow from lifting them up. I also would caution you though, don't let it get towed backwards, it will tear the louvers off.

Unsure of the actual material. It's some sort of metal. Not sure AL or stamped steel

My '83 GT had either factory or dealership installed rear louvers. They were metal with either thin gauge steel or aluminum mounting brackets/hinges. The top edge brackets were hinged so you could loosen the lower nuts to raise the louver for cleaning the rear window. The brackets fit underneath the molding and were double-stick taped to the glass. I decided not to re-install after the paint job and recently got rid of the louvers and hardware (sorry). Here is a picture but you cannot see the hardware much, only the cap nuts. By the way, another way to ding up your louvers is to back into the half open garage door (see photo).

Thank you very much, that's the info I was looking for. I don't see any side pieces on there either.

Here are the Ford accessory rear louvers. Out of 1987 brochure

Here's the 1979 brochure. Slighter fewer slats, so there were a few styles from Ford
