So I bought a set of louvers that were supposed to fit my 88 hatch. It didn't fit right and it didn't have any hardware to mount it with so I cut 2 bottom louvers off for it to fit and it looked ok. my research showed that they were mounted with 3m tape to the window glass, hinges at top and some kind of fixed mount at the bottom. so I made my own brackets at top and bottom cleaned the window with lacquer thinner and used the high strength 3m tape and all was well for 3 months, I drove the car 3 or 4 times. Than after sitting in the garage for a month or so I took it out and washed the car and took it for a ride, when I hit about 40 WHOOOOSH off goes the louver up in the air and landed on the side of the road in the grass. Luckily no one was behind me but it went straight up and over so it would have hit any thing. I'm afraid to even try to put it on again, how can I mount this thing that I can trust it !!!
Any body have an idea?

I think the powers that be are telling you to leave the louvers in the grass on the side of the road. Or maybe pick them up and toss them in a dumpster.

There's a few different Louvers over the years. There's the Ford Louvers, a few different aftermarket aluminum ones and the new ABS plastic ones.

Guess we need pics of yours to determine which they are
