rearaxle noise 03 4.6GT

HELP!!!
i recently got a grinding, clunking noise from the rear of my Stang when starting off left and right and even in reverse going right and left.
When i drained the oil there was only 1 liter, as there were no leaks i think this was underfilled from the factory.
Since this i have changed all the bearing's and put the correct 2 liter's back with the anti-friction lube.
This has made no differance, so i think it must be the TRAC-LOC unit!!!
would i get away with a clutch pack or should i replace the unit???
This all happened after i replaced the lower control arms with Roush/polly units, but this could just be coincidental

the stiffer bushings in the control arms probably transmit the noises more than the stock ones.

how many miles on the car? if it was underfilled from the factory i bet it wouldve showed the noise sooner than it did. you could get a clutch pack and rebuild the diff, or you could upgrade to a torsen.

the car has 40k, would the stock axle be a 8.8 with 28 spline??

yes its 28 spline. i think if it was that underfilled from the factory then it would've made noise earlier.
