The 6 cylinder cars had an integral (non-removable carrier) type of rearend that was very low performance. It kind of looks like the little brother to the 8.8 but I think it had a 7 or 7.5 inch ring gear but since I have never owned one I can't say for sure.
my 66 had a 6' 3/4" rear-end when I picked it up . I have since purchased an 8.8 inch to replace it with. I suggest you get rid of that rear end and quickly. Those things can't put any power down to the ground. I am almost positive you do not have an 8 inch or 9 inch in there currently as your car is probably factory intact.
