reason why I think it is the booster and not the m/c

Some of you may know that i have had this on going problem with my 5 lug conversion. Weird, because I have installed a conversion on other cars and had no issues.

I think my booster is cracked or leaking air at one of the seams. I thought that it was the master cylinder but the pedal pressure is great when I am bleeding it. Once I turn on the car the pedal goes all the way to the floor but still has some stopping power. In the past when I had a bad m/c I couldn't even bleed the brakes. The pedal would not hold any pressure at all. I am going to get a 93 cobra booster from checkers and see if that fixes the problem. If not then I will try the m/c. But I am confident that it is the booster.

Anyone have anything else to add to my on going problem.
Thanks for any help
Jon

Another source for the 93 Cobra M/C and brake booster is though Autozone's website. You can order from their website and they will ship it directly to your house. I just got both from them and it took about four days before it was dropped off at the house.

Dude I thought you were getting a New 93 Cobra Booster last Week? The adjustment rod should not have fallen out of the old Booster, and you can pretty much turn in any Booster for a Core as they wont know what the hell it came out of.

what about a core charge?

You put the old part into the box and take it back to the store to get your core charge back or it comes with return labels to send them back to the DC. I take it back to the store to get my money back quicker. Shakerhood is correct they did not question the core at all since it was not an OEM Cobra unit that I returned.

I was. I found a new bumper for my lx though and I couldn't pass it up. I will order the booster and m/c this weekend. Be on the road next weekend. WOrk kinda gets in the way nowadays as well.

I will. Actually I will be going straight to the tire shop for alignment then spend the day ripping through the gears. After that I will get on here and report.

well, I just installed the new master cylinder and that didn't work. Now I gotta take it all back apart and get a new brake booster. (they didn't have one in stock at the time). what a mess. I think I have gone through 2 gallons of brake fluid. Oh well, this is the last thing to replace. Everything will be brand new now LOL!

I know you got your set up for something like 10 bucks, but for all the hassle and time you have been through, it would have been easier and cheaper just to have purchased the 93 Cobra Booster and M/C in the very beginning!

yeah yeah I know. I actually bought a new 95 master cylinder (cheaper than the cobra) and I am going to buy a 93 booster this week (same price as a 95). again this will make everything on this side of the install brand new. But winter is approaching so it won't be so bad because I don't have a/c LOL!

well, I have bled the brakes quote a few times. I am thinking I will take off the wheels so I can see the fluid coming out and make sure it is clear. I don't think I could replace anything else that would make a difference. No fluid is leaking out on the ground anywhere. Would a bad caliper do this? I am thinking maybe a rear caliper could be bad but I have never seen one do that before. Usually they just stick

As I resurect an old thread....

I'm wondering what happened w/ this. I'm having the same problem. I'm going to go and rebleed the whole system this weekend. I have a brand new 93 Cobra booster AND MC...I'm thinking I just have air somewhere, but I'll just find out this weekend.
