Motor still runs good... has 38 PSI oil press @ idle when fully hot... [195*] but.. I think this motors about had enough....
and probably could use a rebuild. [it was nitroused like crazy in 2002 season]. it makes some mechanical sounds if you havent run it for a few weeks then fire it up on a cold day.. when motor warms up it sounds fine..
I have the AFR 165cc Pedestal style 61cc chamber heads. How much HP would I gain by going to 10... or 10.5:1 or even 11:1 [buy new forged pistons] vs. staying 9:1?? I'm debating making this an all motor mid-upper 11s car or power adder high 10 low 11 car..
I'm leaning towards staying 9:1... because i'm dying to turbo this car... but I AM curious of the HP gain from 10.5 or 11:1 vs stock compression ratio?
Cams. What are some good emissions legal grinds that will waaaaay outdo the stocker as far as N/A HP? Does FTI do custom, but, emission legal grinds? I've seen alot of E 303 cars that have run pretty damn good, and was thinking of just getting one of those. I have noticed a few turbo & supercharged cars that were runnin' pretty good and good dyno numbers..... using the E cam.
Any specific bearings these engines prefer? TRW stuff is fine I assume?
MY buddy James said to use total seal rings..? Yay or Nay?
If I stay 9:1, I am also going to buy a main cap girdle too, because if I stay 9:1 it's because it will likely have a exhaust driven power adder on it shortly after.
