Hey guys, I just purchased this car bout three days ago and plan on doing alot to it. It has been through alot by the way the car looks. I got it for 3700 which isnt to bad. Has 122k on the motor, automatic, power windows, locks and all. But it does have somethings that need alot of attention with. The first and biggest thing I am going to be doing is the top, which has a busted rear window and a patched slit on the driver side. I have already ordered it from Late Model Restoration.com. I will be posting alot pics of things that I'm doing to her. She will be in new looking condition when I'm done with her. So here are some pictures of her for now and will be taking some pics of the things that will be getting fixed. Sorry bout the pictures. iphones dont take the best pics.

It is a shame how some dont take care of cars. She is in good hands now.

Thank you. I love the car alot just seems like someone couldnt bother taking care of her in a good way. Yeah I plan on doing the step by step of the top installation. I have heard it is easy and then some say it was a B***h. Just gonna do alot of research of the install.

I've seen alot worse. For that many miles, the car looks to be in good shape.. Is it just me that thinks this? Only body damage I see is small dents in the front bumper. 03 Cobra bumper, new top, and a new shortblock and you'll be set

Yeah the bumper is trashed. Someone hit something and messed it up. It has broken mounts right above the headlights. Has some body work right by the driver door where the top weatherstripping meets the body. There is a small ding in the driver side door and gonna need a rear bumper and then the deck lid has some chipping around the passenger quarter panel.

Definately going with the Cobra bumper, keeping the rims for now, and may be a new wing. Interior is in good shape with just the front seats showing little bit of wear. I will put more pics of the body damage that will be getting repaired.

D98gt- yeah the rear tires I just had put on yesterday and I'm not happy with the way the rim sticks out.

They are Pirelli's

Yeah I thought so too. Had to run it by the old lady but she didn't care as long as I dont get bored with it and sell it later on.

Here is a pic of the bracket piece that is broke.

Here is the other side that is also broken.

Some body damage and gonna need new headlights.

Here is a pic of the rear bumper that is warped right below the plate area. The other is just where the bumper is cracking and peeling paint off.

The deck lid has a chip on the passenger side.

The worst part of the car lol.

Here is the pic of how far the rim sticks out in the rear. Not sure if it is just the brand of tire cause the front is the same size as the rear and they dont stick out.
This will be getting taken care of tomorrow. What would be a good way to get all the rust off that motor? Maybe wire brush?

if i was you id go with a saleen body kit, or maybe just a termi front bumper, and new headlights from american muscle, and then spray the whole car, unless most of the panels are in good shape without dents, dings and or scratches. Thats nothing though, for what you paid for it is an insane price id love to find an auto vert for that price for my girl.

Yeah the termi front bumper is a must. I really like the rear bumper too, but im not trying to make her a Fobra. I have thought bout the saleen kit also. There really isnt to much body work to her. She will be needing a new coat for sure. Who ever painted the car did a chitty job on it. There are runs and imperfections everywhere. The guy wanted 4k for it but it sat on craigslist in dallas for bout a month. So i decided to see what he would take for it since i did mention how long it has been on there. So he thought bout it and called me back last saturday and said it was a deal.

Was this car ever in an accident?
and

Ouch that intake manifold is ready to crack. .. Change that asap before you need a tow truck to get home.

All that red looking **** happens when coolant drips down the hot motor. Atleast mine did that when my head was warped and coolant was seeping past the intake gaskets.

From the look of yours it cracked on the screw part.

Edit: When you say your taking care of it tomorrow. Do you mean the rust looking crap or the intake. Sorry.

Glad to hear the stang has a good owner now. Fix her up =]

I was thinking it is just leaking from the thermo housing. I know that is one of them at least. But now that you brought up the intake thing got me worried. Would the car run real hot if there is a crack in the intake or warping of the heads?

Yes it was wrecked before. I looked it up before i bought it. It was wrecked at 41k miles.

You need to buy a whole new intake manifold and replace it. Its easy to change *sad*. The plastic housings crack on every mustang that had them sooner or later. Mine cracked @ the screw housing like yours and thats why the red rust crap is showing. That red crap is not there for a good reason. Its a cheap fix though.

order this: Ford Racing 4.6L Performance Improvement (PI) Intake Manifold at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Check your coolant revisor and see if your coolant is low. That would cause your car to run hot.
