Is it extremely hard to rebuild an engine? I own a 91 5.0 lx and would like to get started but not sure if I should give it a shot or just have someone do it for me...??? Any help would be great.

If you have never rebuilt a engine before, leave to a professional. Or best case option would be to have a professional as a friend and he does the work for you while he lets you watch, help, and ask lots of questions. That way you learn the most, and then enjoy the ride the most, because you will then understand how everything works.

how are your mechanical skills? instead of a rebuild, you could consider buying a rebuild short block, pulling your motor and swapping everything over to the new short block. If you try it, take a ton of pictures (close ups, wide angle, every connector, front accessories) and label every thing. bag and tag all bolts.

This is an excellent idea, especially if you don't have precision measuring tools like micrometers, bore gauges and experience in using them.
