I have been getting alot of one wheel burn outs and had a set of trac-lock clutchs I bought about 2 months ago, and decided it was time. I was scared because I have never done it before but it looked easy.
I used this link on doing it.

I'll give some of my suggestions to.
Make sure to shim the clutch pac to 0.640 mine was .625 use a micrmeter DON'T JUST GO BY THE SHIM SIZE THATS ON IT ORGINALLY it will not work but everything went in easy. Hint to help rotate the spider gears in push the axles in to help rotate the assembley....also before doing this take the pinion pin(??) in the spider gears to line them up(then remove) before rotating them in, that way you only have to do it once.
Also before you put the pinion pin in make sure to put the c-clips on the axles.
To get the S spring in take a peice of rectangle wood slightly smaller than the S clip and hammer it in(it will not be easy)

went to the track and the modded rebuilt traction loc held up great. I ran a best of 8.184 @ 89.11 MPH with a 2.009 60' time. I should have aired my slicks down to 10 pounds but I ran 12 pounds in them. That was a N/A run. I like the Vic JR heads. I think I should get a vic jr intake.

i think the vic jr intake will pic u up 2 tenths....your intake is choking you off in my opinion. Be prepared to work the bugs out though.....as you know lol

Jeez whats up with everybodys traction lok needing rebuilding? lol. My is the same way though ha. Thanks for having this post cause now i'm gonna rebuild mine this month when i put my 3:73's in :D Thanks alot

I was thinking very seriously about picking one up. I will have to see if I can save te cash up to buy one. But I think I will have to wait for a while before I can buy one. I am just dreaming probably.

right on guys, I'll remember that when I got to do mine, i went and did it the easy way though, just went to summit and bought the whole carrier assembled, along with some 3.73, and a new bearing and seal kit, 501$ total and had a friends shop do everything for 200$!!!! SCORE!!!

please continue, I've been wanting one since my car won't be a daily driver for long lol I don't feel like screwing around with clutch packs and all that ****... mini spool FTW lol
it really doesnt skip around as much as everyone thinks ....its more like u feel one side of the car raise up more than the other. If your car isnt street driven very ofter i wouldnt hesitate to put one in! ZERO issues with mine so far!

Also that would be one more thing that would turn people attention to my car. Loud and squacks tires while turning in parking lot.
