I think I need to replace my oxygen sensors. My stang makes this backfiring kind of noise when I try to accelerate and continues when I bring up the RPMs. I pulled a code 172 which means there is a fault in the HEGO sensors. Does anyone recommend a good brand? This really sucks too cuz its only been two days since I got my car back. Had some 3.73's installed and I have to drive like Ms Daisy

Just because you get a lean code, dont assume it's the lambdas. For instance, if you run 'self diagnostics' and you come up with a code for your lower back hurting, it could be a stubbed toe that you got last week that's causing you to walk funny and throwing your back outta whack.

Don recently posted some GREAT info about Bosch vs Ford O2's. I dont want to bastardize what he said, but my impression was that he said that the Ford Heater circuit is superior. That said, both sensors should work well. But if they are close in price, and I was shopping, I might get the Ford pieces based upon what Don said (he sees all the streams while tuning cars - who better to know than someone in his position!).

Good luck.
