I just bought a 88 LX coupe that's been sitting for about 4 years. It ha a funny noise so I went ahead and took the motor out and apart. I was told it was bored 30 over - WRONG! I do know it was running 12.7's in the 1/4, seen it myself. It has a GT-40 intake, MAC equal length headers, don't know any cams specs yet. I plan on GT-40 alum. heads and 125-175hp hit of nitrous. What are good cam combos, pistons, etc. I have about $3000 so far that I can spend but it will grow. I was thinking 65mm TB, not sure of mass air sensor size, 30lb injectors, 155lph pump. I'm open for suggestions because if I hear 5.0 slow at work again I'm going to show them the true meaning of road rage (again)!! Especially when they drive hondas and cavaliers. Thanks in Advance.

I'm not sure why it is stamped as both an e cam and a 2040, but they have identical specs. 12.7 is very hard for me to believe with the mods the car had, especially if the heads are untouched e7s.

I wonder if they smoked their original engine and just put the GT-40 intake and cam back in. It definatly sounded mean and ran good. I don't know enough about heads to know if anything has been done.
