I just ordered the Quicklift Plus kit straight from Redline Tuning this evening. I was going to order it from www.50resto.com, but they don't have any. They said they have not got the first shipment yet from Redline.

I ordered the ones with the 2 yr warranty on all parts, but splurged for the all black brackets to match better.

Hope to post some pics within the next week. I can't wait for the next show or reason to open the hood to see who will notice the prop rod gone.

How much did you pay for it? Does it lift it the same as the prop rod or higher?

Here is the link to Redline Tuning http://www.redlinetuning.com/QL-FORD-MUS-8793.html

They have 3 different kitswith different prices. I chose the Quicklift Plus, with shipping it was $84.76. According to tracking it will be here Saturday, but I don't think FedEx delivers on saturday, so probably Monday. Which is cool since I'm off Monday. I know what I will be doing Monday Unless my body shop is closed, I am planning on having them rivet the 4 rivits that hold the top brackets instead of buying a rivet gun.

Fed Ex delivers on Saturday, yea!!

Well, I got up this morning to check the tracking of the struts, but before I did that I looked outside for the package. Fed Ex dropped it on the porch and ran this morning. I bought a cheap $10 rivet gun and started in on the project. It took me 3 hrs but If I did it again, I could probably get it done in 1 hr. The biggest problem I had was getting the struts snapped onto the ball ends. There is a clip inside the strut ends that wasn't in the right position, but with a slight twist of it with a screwdriver, it snapped on easy. Also, the kit says to attach the bottom bracket and then snap on strut. I would suggest getting the holes threaded, but then snap the strut on before screwing the bottom bracket on for the final time. There is not a lot of room in between the bracket and fender. I know, pics would be great, but will try to get them done Monday and posted. The hood does open up higher, but it is so cool. Once you raise the hood about 1/2 way, the cylinders take over. Then when lowering the cylinders kickout about 1/2 way too, allowing the regular closing of hood.

The hood does go up higher with the kit. There were a few little kinks, but install was not too bad. One of the rods seems to be in a little bind, but it looks like it is mainly body movement at the bottom mount. Only time will tell how the struts work and last. But all in all, I am happy with the install. Here are some pics. I took them inside my garage and its winter time so the pony is not super clean at this time.
