I know there is a lot of debate on certain companies based on people's own experience or based on word of mouth or internet talk (bash).

I did a lot of research on buying a new tranny for my stang after grenading the stock T-5 at the last track event.

The determining factor for me like for many people is the cost. I could not beat the price of Redneck Performance's C4 to companies like TCI and PA etc. I know you have to compare apples to apples however.

Anyways after a week of conversing with Donald from Redneck I have placed my order for a transbrake manual valve body C4.

For anyone looking at their products, Donald is a pleasure to work with. I'll keep this updated with some pics when I get the tranny.

Well I just received my Redneck C4! They did a great job shipping and kept me informed, providing me with all the tracking and shipping info. This is especially important as I'm an out of country customer and need extra arrangements made.

I purchased a block plate seperately from Redneck which I guess was missed on shipment. Within a day of notifying them by email I received a phone call directly from Texas to my residence. Donald apologized for the mistake and promised one out right away. Now that's customer service!

Wouldn't really blame them though. They probably built it with a h/c/i turbo car in mind and in reality it would be about 100hp without the turbo. I think it would be just right with a little nut behind it.

My new winter project. Anyone done the C4 swap themselves? Wondering what everyone's preferences are? fluid etc.

Transbrake should be cool.....hehe

sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm bashing these guys everywhere.

Lat year I ordered a TH400 with JW bell, case saver support, 34 element int sprag, RMVB & T brake. Right off the bat the Tbrake didn't work, nor did reverse. It could idle back but any gas and the band would slip. They sent me a longer apply pin. That improved it, but would still slip. I then lost my job and had to move 3 states up. No way could I drop the trans out of the car for that while I was out of town.

When I finally got the car up to its new home the Rednecks were out of business.

I dropped the trans & saw what looked like a crack in the case right above the planetaries. It wasn't leaking so I was planning to rebuild it if everything looked ok on the inside. There was a leak from the bell housing, one of the bell/pump bolts. Upon tear down I found many of the O rings between the bell & the pump were pinched. That's what caused the leak.

Next thing I found; No case saver despite being charged for one. The front retaining ring was positioned with the opening between the large gap and, well, it broke a lug. Case is nothing more than a 12 gauge slug target now.

Last thing I found was a 16 element int sprag where I was charged for a 34...

Since the trans never had a functional Tbrake I can't even honestly sell the RMVB. All I've got is a bucket of junk parts.

If they're out of business, what is the point of your bashing?
