Good morining :)
Well i reinstalled my steering shaft and headed out last night..well ran great EXCEPT..my steering wheel is UP SSIDDDE DOWN!!questions are:
Does the rag joint coupling only fit one way? or does it connect regardless of orientation?...could I have installed the ragjoint backwards??
Second...can I remove the solid link located by the firewall and simply 180 that connection and correct the wheels orientation?

My main concearn obviously is safety...can the rag joint be connected wrong (180out) but still all to be bolted up. The two bolts are torqued and though the wheel has a little slop she is secure..but maybe bolted on wrong:shrug:

yes you can rotate the ragjont. and it can only go on two ways. there is no in between. so i guess thats where you went wrong. the only other thing i can think of is the u-joint farther up the line. did you disconnect it there?

So the rag joint can be installed 2 ways!! ok then it can't be installed wrong? I will attempt to remove the bolt further up the shaft by the firewall and rotate 180and reinstall.
thanks,
D.

Ha-Ha "Reinstall steering shart...wheel is 180 degrees out!!!" You said "Shart"! Lay off the Blue-Light! Just ribbin DMAN, You've helped me in the past. I'm sure you'll solve it. I still have no signals 2 years after aod-t5 swap.

I noticed just after :)..no one else aside from you and I appear to have noticed.:) Anyhow...problem resolved, I was hoping I could get away with not having to jack up the damn thing again...but ah well. Thanks everyone, as always.

I noticed it too, but I thought you were using the word "shart" as a variation of "SNAFU" or something in an abbreviated sentence, like a subject heading. Like, "Computer shart causes train collision; 3,000 dead."

Speaking of which, I almost had a shart today at work ... and not the SNAFU variety. :D

What were you disconnecting the steering shaft for? Converting to manual, or just replacing the rack?

Was a header install...problem was corrected last night, she's good as can be again. Now if I could just get a little clearance for my C&L inlet tube from my shock tower I'd be soooo very happy. Ah well it's always somethin.
