Reinstalling the Tranny (Quick Question)

Hey everyone. I have an 03 Gt with a Tremec 3650. I just finished installing my new clutch package and Im trying to figure out how to reinstall the tranny. I dont seem to have enough clearance with the bellhousing to just slide it into place. Basically I cant get the tranny high enough to get the input shaft to clear the fingers on the pressure plate (about an inch away). Anyone have any suggestions? Should I loosen the engine mounts and slightly rotate the engine?
Anyone else had this issue before?

Thanks for your time in advance :)

I had nearly the same issue getting the T45 transmission in my 2000. Worked for hours on it. Even cut a slight notch in the floor shifter hole.

No matter what, I couldn't get the transmission up high enough to line up without the transmission hitting the top of the tunnel. When forced, this changed the angle (bad).

I loosened the motor mounts slightly. The back of the motor dropped an additional 1/4" that made all of the difference in the world. Wish I had done it sooner.

Good luck.

Jack up the motor a little bit in the front. That will push it down in the back a little bit. You wont get a ton of clearance like this, but it helps.

I have found the most difficult part about putting these transmissions back in is the number of splines. Just hard to get it to line up.
