hello. got a quick, albeit weird one for you. in my door swapping games on the 88 gt vert, i was wondering if i can swap the top piece of door molding. i cant take pics, so ill try a narrative.
there is the outer door glass belt weatherstripping (the rubber that goes along the window so rain doesnt go down the window into the door guts).

then below it a couple of inches, there is a broad plastic molding piece. it is actually two pieces;one short one for the bend near the mirror, and one long straight run along the main body of the window. it is right at the top of the painted metal on the door (it transitions the metal to the window weatherseal).

it appears to slide. however, i cant get it off. im afraid of breaking it. does anyone know how to remove it so i can transplant it?
many thanks to anyone whom may know. :D

If you are talking about the belt molding on the bottom of the door, it is held in by one screw and then slides toward the rear. If you are talking about the rubber piece above it, it is riveted in by a few rivets. All the other pieces around the door just slide out after you take the rubber out around it. Hope this helps.

351, thanks so much. i forgot to kill this thread. Mustang Mikey sent me an email and helped me out (as he has with all the other door crud). i read it and went out to the garage at 3 am and forgot to put a reply in here.
thanks so much, though. i really appreciate it. :nice:

Tim, above sentiments go to you too. you snook in there and beat me to posting. i got it covered for now. :-)
thanks again. :nice:
