Remove MAF post? If so, how?

What advantage is there to removing the MAF post? Is this a good idea? How do you do it?

any advantage to the alum. Cold air kits? i know i'm going to use a k&n filter, but unsure about the kit. fender, under hood, or stock? i'm new to the perfomance end of mechanics! first car that i can play with!

Have you taken off the intake air silencer yet? Free mod that gets a tiny bit of HP and also makes it louder...

Also, don't forget about preventitive maintenance... Change EVERY fluid!

although i have a metal one, i'd suggest a plastic made one that doesn't transfer heat. they really dont' have a big power difference between them, so you can't really og that wrong with them

I previously had a K&N Aircharger with plasic intake tube and currently use a C&L with an aluminum intake tube and MAF housing. Both were good CAIs in my opionion, however I had occasional stalling issues with the K&N system, which could have been eliminated by re-installing a MAF screen, that have not occurred with the C&L setup. The C&L CAI may significantly lean out your A/F ratio however, so a tune is recommended if using it.
