Removing bumper and headlight assembly..

I have a question on removing the bumper.. underneath the car there are 3 plastic self holding screws, and for the life of me, i cannot get them off.. I tried some pliers to get one, but i guess I could not squeeze it tight enough.. is there a easier way to do this ?? I dont have a lift, so it makes it a little bit harder.

Also, on the front of the engine bay, there are 2 weird type screws that hold the bumper and I dont know how to get them out..

I looked at the headlight assembly, and can't figure out which bolt/screws hold it in place.. so maybe someone can enlighten me.

Sry, can't help ya out there. My bumper was just hanging there so I don't know the official way to take it off.

there is a tool that u can rent just for those stupid plastic screws, or buy if they dont have one. its kinda like a weed puller but flat. i just used my moms weed puller when i was taking them out. good luck.

use a screwdriver to pry it off, they pop right out, also when your taking the bumper off dont forget the where its bolted into the quarter panels on both sides

Yep, already got them.. I knew those were there from when I changed the bumper on my last GT.. I'll try to pry those fckers out.

Does ANYONE know what the assembly is called where the bumper goes into right underneath the headlights ? That is a minor problem on the car cause it was hit on the passenger side front before I got it, and the bumper sags... but besides that, there has to be something else that holds it up.. I just haven't gotten that far because I have not actually taken the bumper off.

I am curious to find out whether or not you were able to figure out what caused your front bumper to sag. I am experiencing a small gap problem on my passenger side headlight assembly unit. There is a small gap between the front pointed part of the front fender and the the top part of the headlight assembly unit where the black seal is located. The black seal should be flush in the fender, but at that specific location, there's a small gap between the black rubber seal and the front pointed part of the front fender.
My Mustang was involved in a hit and run where someone hit the front bumper exactly next to the license plate on the right side. The bumper was pushed in a few millimeters only in the front exactly where the bumper goes upwards and meets with the hood. The bumper was NOT pushed in anywhere else.
The bodyshop had to straighten that area by pulling out the right hand side bumper piston outwards. At least, that's how I think that they straightened out the bumper to be perfectly even at the location where the top of the bumper meets with the hood. There was no sheet metal damage. Ever since the bodyshop fixed everything, the gap appeared. I think that maybe the bumper piston was pushed out too much or maybe too little. The bumper is not crooked or anything like that and the bodyshop said that they measured everything correctly before and after they did the straightening. They said that everything measured straight after they pulled and straightened the bumper. So, I don't know what could be causing the gap problem. The header panel and everything else is in excellent shape. Nothing is broken, cracked or bent.
Maybe you might know what's causing this gap to appear. Everything on my car is original Ford stock equipment. No alterations have been made on my Mustang. My car is 100% stock.

on my 95 there were 2 rivits on the bottom of the bumper that connected to the lower radiator support. Had to pound them off w/ a screwdriver/hammer.

there are brackets on each side--2 screws each. you can get to them via the fenderwells underneath the car.

there are also two rivets where the pony is, between the headlights.

take your time and look around, you'll find it all.

Sounds to me like you are talking about the rivets not screws. When I took my bumper off to paint it we just drilled them out and replaced them with screws so they would be easier to remove next time I had to take it off.

As for the headlights, get a 11mm or 12mm closed end wrench, put it over the little black things on the headlight screws on the back side of the header panel, and pop them through.
