I was wondering if i could remove 2 of my 4 cats and pick up a little bit better sound. Would it make it sound like crap? Too loud? Any hp gains. I do know this is not "Spose to be done" but what were to happen if 2 of the 4 fell off one day and i did not know and i put some pipe in the place they were spose to be becuase i did not kno that cats were spose to go there so i just put some normal piping.

I replaced my 4 cat pipe with an catted MRT-H which has 2 cats. I already had a MAC catback on. There was definetly a sound improvement. So I'm pretty sure you'll hear a difference if you "lose" 2 of them :)

Well, if you want to lose 2 of the cats, buy another midpipe. I dont know if you were just thinking about cutting two out and putting pipe in their place or what, but I would just go ahead and buy a new midpipe. I personally went with the Mac Prochamber. Good luck

Why all the double talk? Ditch the stock California emmisions 4 cat H-Pipe set up and get yourself a Magnaflow catted x-pipe if you want to stay emissions legal. No need for excuses.

Yep. Just replace the whole thing w/ a catted X. I had a Magnaflow one before it was great. The labor you'll pay to have 2 cats cut out which is kinda a strange idea not to mention may not pass emissions anymore anyway you could put $$ towards a good pipe like everyone else has done already :p

ok cool. The guy at the exhaust shop said " all those cats are really holding your car back with sound and perfomance , If i were to tap on them a little bit and they came off you would really feel the diffrance" i am gonna check out the other pipes.

Sounds like you found a place to get it inspected regardless of what you have, which is nice. There are few people that will not do that unless they know you.I haven't had cats on anything in 8 years. It would be cheaper with aftermarket most likely, and you will get better quality than a pieced together mid-pipe.
