Removing cubby hole below stereo in dash?

I'm looking to remove the rectangular cubby hole in my dash just below the stereo. It should just pop out....not?

It seem to be held in there pretty good. Is there any trick to getting it out.

This is on a 95 GT if that makes any difference at all.

It helps if you remove the radio first. Then push down the two top clips from the cubby and it should pop out.

i always just push up on the very back part and usually the top will pop out and then you can pull it straight out.

Is it necessary to remove the stereo?

Are you saying to lift up from the back of the cubby from the back side of it? Then it will pop the top out and you can wiggle it out.....something like that?

Pull out the radio. Push the tabs down. Pull out the unit. Done.

you dont need to remove anything, just pinch it from the front and pull it out.
