Removing dowel pins from flywheel?

I just tap them out from the back with a punch.

new flywheel should come with new pins...

Why are you removing the pins???

I have heard of machine shops putting a rag around them and pulling them out with vice grips, but I would use that as a last resort after the punch method.

You need to remove the pins if you are going to have the flywheel resurfaced.

I always buy a new flywheel.
Not many places resurfaces them anymore.
