I went to go do this relatively simple task last night and noticed that the fuel rail was smack dab on top of the screws holding in the COP plugs in place with less than 1" or so clearence. How does one remove the fuel rail? Do I need to pull the fuse and crank the engine (to relieve fuel pressure) and all that in order to do so? Shall I just have the local garage do this?

This seems like a stupid thing considering I have been doing plugs for ever but this seems like a messy task.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I believe you will need the 7mm swivel-head socket. This part can be found at any Sears.

Exactly what you said...I just pulled the fuel pump relay and cranked it over for a good 5-8 seconds to relieve the fuel pressure. All I got was a small amount of residual fuel from the lines. This is when I replaced my 30 lb injectors with 42 lb injectors.

Only issue I had was the injector for No. 4 cylinder (see diagram below). This injector is located directly under the inlet piping to the supercharger. Took some work, but I managed to change it without removing the inlet duct.

I take it you didn't get around to changing out your spark plugs like you planned? I didn't either as I had other plans that took up my time this past weekend...maybe next weekend for me.

Thank you for the help, it is much appreciated. Never got to it last weekend. I spent 10 minutes poking around and discovered that I needed to find my tools (just moved into a new house).

Hey, did you get around to doing the plug swap? I just got finished...it wasn't as bad as I thought. Hardest ones to do were cylinders 3 and 4. The driver's side was cake. All in all it took me about 45 minutes. It looks harder than it really is to get access to the plugs on the passenger side under the inlet tube. You definitely have to remove the fuel rails.

Good luck with yours...
