I have been posting up the progress of the paint job on my car, so some of you may recognize the car. It is now done!

It is a GM Red with a white pearl used for the stripes. The cobra grill was molded into the GT bumper and it was completely dissasembled when painted, so everything is painted in and out.

NOTE. the hood isn't all the way down, waiting for new hood pins.

More pics of my car here.

Wow - VERY nice! I like the subtile racing stripes - any lighter and they would be "ghost stripes". But I like them the way they are. Very nice turn out!

Car looks great, stripes are a little pinkish, but definately different and works well with the red paint.

A little tire shine and that would be even nicer,

EDIT: How much was the molding of the grill into the bumper. I want to do something nice and different with my LX grill area, and want to know what to expect to pay, thanks!

Looking good I wanted to do the cobra grill, but without molding it in, I think it would look just like an add on stuck to the front. Maybe when I get it repainted, whenever that will be.

It cost me $10,000. Luckily I only paid half since a car wash wrecked it and I figured fook it, just do it right since I planned on it anyways. Just did it sooner than I planned. Also I didn't want a third coat of paint.

Here is what they did: They dissasembled it for all the body work and rolled all 4 fenders and even welded in reinforcements. Then primed it. Then test fit everything. They took it apart, they painted it red. They put it back together again to lay the stripes. Then took it apart again for the clear. Then it is going back together for the last time. That is where they are at now. They even molded the Cobra bumper insert into the bumper instead of the usual stick on. Among other things they did. And I am getting all new glass.

Plus out here in CA our labor rate is $100 an hour, so it is actually very competitive.
