I am thinking about repainting my 2003 GT convertable (tan top) and am thinking Candy Max Orange which came on the 2008-09 Suzuki motorcycles would look good.

Here is a current pic of the car which is virtually stock (this will change shortly):

Here is the color I am thinking about:

Part of the reason why I am thinking about a repaint is I am going to be replacing the front bumper (01 cobra), rear bumper (03/04 cobra with "cobra" removed), hood (03/04 cobra or 2.5 inch cowl hood not sure yet), 03/04 cobra rocker panels, 03/04 cobra side view mirrors, bullit side scoops. I will also be shaving all the emblems, door/trunk locks and antenna.

On the way is also a set of 18x9/18x10 FR500 wheels, 03/04 IRS and a full maximum motorsports suspension setup with coil overs and a wilwood brake setup.

In the future once its time for a rebuild I have a 4V N/A big bore planned.

Tell me what you think of the color. My neighbor has a M109R same bike that is pictured and the color is awesome on his bike. I was already thinking about repainting Sunset Orange Metallic until he brought home his bike and instantly thought it would look good on the Mustang. It's a big change going from the amount of the color you see on his bike to covering a car.

chosing a diff color (i.e. green vs orange, green vs another green would look fine) means engine bay, door jams, trunk jam, everything. It's a lot more work

Oh I know. I've been a life long Mustang fan (this is my sixth) and when GM came out with Sunburst Orange Metallic I have always wanted to have a Mustang in that color until I saw my neighbors bike.

I've been toying with the idea of swapping the parchment interior out for that of a cobra or bullit interior which would mean taking everything out at that point anyway. In all honesty I am looking for something a little different which is why I am looking at a color change.

Thats just what I was thinking. You pop the hood on an orange car with a green engine bay would look awful.

It'll be a complete strip down and repaint. I will be doing a lot of the work myself to save money on labor. As for price I should only be paying for the paint/labor. I will be doing disassemble/reassemble myself.
