I promise I wont run stock tires at the track!!!
I promise I wont run stock tires at the track!!!

Went to the CMC/SRT-4 shootout today and man did I SUCK. Found out about it too late and couldnt get any DR's or slicks. Well I tried to run it on the stock F-1's. Can you say wheel hop and spin city.... for about 200-400 feet down the strip. Ran mid 13's. I couldnt stick for anything. Its sad when a lightly modded GT runs better times than you.
I should be running high 11's to low 12's. NADA isnt happening on these tires.
During the drive home I was pissed at the car. Wanted to park it in the garage and forget about it. Had a glass of tea and thought about it and its not the car its the driver and tires.

Excellent job to you guys who were able to smoke em out today

Im just venting!!!!
I should have known better

There will be a new set of M/T ET Streets to my door by next week though.
Live and we learn.

you should know better. Damn i hate those eagle f1's. Cant wait to get them off of my Lightning, and burn them to the ground. Total crap used. When it was fairly new, i was running 13s with it, after about 5k, couldn't do any better than mid 14, if my life depended on it. TIre is all cracked and hard. I can't wait to get some Hoosiers on mine as well. I ordered some MT ET drags for mine a few months back but were on a long ass backorder. I have the BFG KDW instead and those things are pretty nice. of course i have a slower car...

Good luck on your next run with those tires!

Its really hard to run well on street tires. I've never ran on anything else but I guess I can see how its easy to get spoiled.

I have only been to the track once, I have a 2.8, SCT Tune, catback and intake, with the stock tires. My best 2 runs were 13.1 @ 109 and 13.1 @ 112. The one at 109 I just rolled off the line and still got minor wheel hop through 1st and 2nd. The second was a launch a 3k and it was ugly, the car was hopping so bad I missed 2nd. I am getting Nittos real soon.

Why are you going to do something stupid like that. Save yourself the time and money and buy yourself some M/T ET Street Radials insted.

The car is my daily driver, I don't know if those tires will work well for that.

I heard nittos dont hook up as well but do last longer for daily driving/racing. I have a bfg dr but i load it up in the car and change it at the track. what can I say, Im cheap.

Although, i saw an ad for a new Nitto DR that is supposed to hook up real good but still get the life of the 555s.

when i got my car they said they were gonna give me brand new tires, "oh these are $800 tires...blah blah". i get stuck with f'n kumho's. the back two are basically slicks right now. those tires sucked. i want a tire that will get traction off the line but mainly one that is gonna last. i need at least 2 tires asap. im gonna get them this week. still need advice - continental conti's seem to be the best for the money... they are H rated tho? does it mattter that much.
