I just replaced my AC clutch as the Bearings were toast and the coil was burnt up, but the clutch does not engage when I turn on the A/C. The fuse looks good. Any Ideas. I want to try jumping the compressor. Does it matter which terminals I connect the pos and negative to ?
did you measure the clearance of the clutch with feeler guages? theres a specific gap you need to enforce follow when you install those.
I tested the current at the clutch and had no power. I jumped the clutch by connecting it directly to the battery and it started working. I also used a paperclip to jump the switch on the evaporator, that didnt do anything either. whet else am I missing?
Ahhh...yep that was what I was getting at. Those high current ones in the engine bay are sometimes overlooked. Glad you got it.OK figured it out. there was another fuse in the engine bay that was blown. I changed the fuse and everything is working great.Thanks for the help!
