When you guys chunked your Mach 460, what speakers did you replace the 2.5" ones with? I'm having a hell of a time finding some. I thought about getting some 1" or 1 1/4" tweeters and mounting them in place of the 2.5's. Will 3" ones work if I dremel out the hole a little bit?
are you keepoing the stock amps? the factory system has crossovers is why I ask. If you are am am not sure what I would do. most places do not make high end 2.5's.
if not and going aftermarket I would just run a 1" tweet. to run a 3" speaker correctly it really need to have a bandpass crossover system. you don't want any low's or realy high frequency coming from them.
I have the boston 6.5 pro separtes in my car. Highly recoment them. they are 3ohm so you get a hair more power out of your amp with out all the increased distortion of a 2ohm load. I have had polk, quart, soundsteam, and diamond high end mids. I like the bostons more.
