I think my smog pump is on it's way out as it's making a whining noise as if the bearings are shot. I don't want to delete it as it's a street car and needs to pass emissions. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a replacement though for obvious reasons (if it's not a mod or an upgrade, who cares about it, right?
I was thinking of going to the junkyard for one but now I've read that they can seize up from sitting around for a long time... true? Should I just get a new one and be done with it?
If so what's a good brand to go with (I assume they are all remans, but you know how much quality can vary with those), something that's fairly cheap and will still last a long time, as the car sees a ton of street miles every year?
