Replacing the Shaker 500 CD radio

Hi there,

New to the Forum and to the Mustang world. :)

My wife bought me a '07 Mustang Convertible V6 for my 50th b'day a few weeks ago. It has 100K mi and apart from some minor issues already solved it's in great shape.

The biggest problem is the Shaker 500 radio: The CD changer and the AUX input don't work.

Since I'm not a fan of 2 DIN radios, I'm evaluating a single DIN and my choice fell on these two radios:

Pioneer DEH-X2900UI - https://www.crutchfield.com/S-pAONrJQ6xQV/p_130X2900UI/Pioneer-DEH-X2900UI.html - Not available on Crutchfield, tough.

Alpine CDE-172BT - https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDE172B/Alpine-CDE-172BT.html - My favorite brand, had a couple in the past and sounded amazing.

I used to work on my car audio when I was in my teens, but now I'm a bit lost and don't have much time to work on it.

I read somewhere that some radios won't work with the my car's amplifier.

My questions are:

(1) Is it an easy job to install these radios on my car?

(2) Are the connections of the new radio compatible with the Shaker 500?

(3) Can I use the original amplifier?

Thank you in advance for your help.
